Blue Mountains Coalition Against Violence & Abuse
Vision: A peaceful world without violence or abuse where all people are respected, and their human rights are valued.
The Blue Mountains Coalition Against Violence and Abuse (CAVA) is convened by the Blue Mountains Women’s Health & Resource Centre. CAVA was formed as a response to develop a creative, collaborative, and political response against Gender Based Violence specifically Domestic, Family and Sexual Violence, acknowledging children are also victims/survivors of gender based violence.
Activities of CAVA include organising events such as the Blue Mountains Mayoral Breakfast, 16 Days of Activism, Reclaim the Night and other various strategies & initiatives to raise awareness of the issue of violence.Membership of CAVA is open to all agencies and community members, who are concerned about making our community safer.
CAVA meetings are currently held 10.00 am to 12.00 pm every 2nd Tuesday of each month in Lawson.
